The full form of RTD is Resistance Temperature Detector. It is a common device for temperature measurements in a wide range of industrial applications which is used to measures temperature. RTD sensors contain either platinum, nickel, or copper wires, as these materials have a positive temperature coefficient.

RTD PT100 Sensors are the most resistance temperature detectors consist of a fine wire wrapped around a ceramic core. It exhibiting a linear increase in resistance as temperature rises. Pt 1000 is used to measure the resistance of a platinum element.
